Yes — the core practice is free forever. The daily card, journal entries (with voice and photo capture), Pattern Mirror basics, the default journal theme, and one bundled deck are all included at no cost. Skein Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks journal search, archive export, Pattern Mirror Pro, unlimited physical decks, and the Stellar Atlas journal theme — see the home page for current pricing.
Yes. Skein is offline-first. Your daily card, journal entries, and pattern dashboard work entirely on your device. An account is only needed if you want to back up and sync across devices.
No. Skein never tells you what a card means. We provide traditional symbolism, keywords, and reflection prompts — but the interpretation is always yours, written in your own words in the journal.
Tap the microphone button inside any reflection field. Your speech is transcribed by your device's built-in speech recognition (on-device on iOS 17+ where supported). Skein only ever sees the resulting text — the audio recording itself never leaves your phone. You can deny or revoke microphone permission at any time in your device Settings; typing remains fully functional either way.
Apple and Google own the cancellation flow for subscriptions purchased through their stores. On iOS, open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Skein and tap Cancel Subscription. On Android, open Google Play → Account → Subscriptions → Skein. You'll keep Plus access until the end of your current billing period.
Open Skein → Shop → tap "Restore Purchases" at the bottom. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID / Google account you used for the original purchase. Same flow restores your Plus subscription if you've signed in on a new device.
Open Skein → Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our servers. Your local data on the device can be cleared by deleting the app.
